Summary
Uncharted Adventures is a fictional Adventure Tour Business for individuals 18 to 35. Their services focus on extreme adventures: hiking the Andes, hand gliding in Switzerland, white water rafting in Africa, etc. The goal when creating the branding for the project was to lean into the extreme. Uncharted Adventures stands out – everything other tour companies do, Uncharted Adventures takes it one step further. It’s not a brand for the light of heart and it targets risk-takers and adrenaline seekers, utilizing design choices that demand your attention from the get-go.
My Process
The inspiration for Uncharted Adventures’ branding came from the Matterhorn, an iconic pyramid-shaped mountain in the Swiss Alps. Its very image embodies the extreme: steep slopes, unforgiving altitude, massive glaciers, and an imposing pyramid-like structure. All this combines to make the distinctive and story-driven recipe a good brand needs. The logo was based on the shape of the mountain and uses white space to create the illusion of the pyramid shaped peak. A blue, black and white color scheme emphasize extreme environments of ice, rock and snow, and typography with condensed bold headlines that are in-your-face large all work together to tell the story of who Uncharted Adventures is: a brand that promises an unforgettable, unreplicable, adventure of a lifetime.
