NC Parks is a mobile app that provides information, maps, activities, news, trails, parking, camping and much more for North Carolina’s outdoor spaces. From planning your next trip to a State Park to finding outdoor areas to picnic, swim or climb, NC Parks gives you everything you need to plan the perfect outdoor adventure for your needs. The goal for the app is to make the outdoors more accessible to the average person and to facilitate the discovery of outdoor spaces people otherwise might never have found.
Branding
The branding for the app is reminiscent of Western North Carolina’s iconic blue ridge mountains which host some of the best outdoor recreation opportunities in the country. It’s designed to make the user feel that the outdoors is easy to access – you don’t have to be a hardcore backpacker, elite rock climber, or ultralight trail runner to enjoy the outdoors. There’s something out there for everyone and NC Parks helps users find the spaces and activities that are best for them. This sentiment is communicated to the user right off the bat with a series of onboarding screens that orient the user and get them thinking about how they next want to get outside.
